Project Request: The homeowners had an outdated exterior with old wood lap siding and an asphalt shingle roof in desperate need of replacement. The home was a contemporary style that was built in the early 1980s in the Stonemill neighborhood of Chesterfield County. They wanted to replace their roof, siding, and gutters in a manner that would give a more modern look to the home.

Project Details

The homeowners were really excited to give a full facelift to their home at a price that they should fully recover when they decide to sell.
  • For the roof, the homeowners chose CertainTeed’s Landmark architectural shingles in Charcoal Black. They opted for the Integrity Roof System 4-star warranty which provides non-prorated warranty coverage of their roof for 50 years. This roof system includes all CertainTeed roofing components such as Winterguard ice & water shield, Roof Runner synthetic underlayment, Swiftstart starter shingles at the eaves and rakes, Shadowridge cap shingles, and filtered ridge vent for improved attic ventilation. We also included Lifetime pipe collars and new flashing at their skylights.
  • Through the design process, the homeowners picked a great combination of styles that compliment one another well. The primary siding is a classic 7” exposure smooth lap Hardie siding in Arctic White. At the center section of the home and the full chimney on the left side, Tredegar installed a Hardie board & batten siding, also in Arctic White. Finally, the front accent of the 2nd story is Precision Fit manufactured stone veneer by ProVia (color = Onyx).
  • For the gutters, Tredegar installed 5” black gutters with 2x3 downspouts. The black color really pops with Onyx colored stone veneer in sharp contrast to the white siding. Finally, the Xtreme Gutter Guards mean the homeowners no longer have to worry about cleaning out those gutters.

Final Results

The whole Tredegar team really enjoyed working on the complete transformation of this home’s exterior and the big smiles on the homeowners’ faces make you remember why we love this work!
