Tredegar Construction, LLC was founded when Johnny Olgers and Jack Thompson recognized the need in the marketplace for a construction services company that provided timely communication and quality craftsmanship at an affordable price. The partners have over 35 years of combined construction industry experience, and the Tredegar crews are some of the best in the region.
Johnny grew up in New Kent, VA and graduated from New Kent High School. From the early age of 16, he was working along side his father framing homes for local builders. It wasn't long before he was running his own crews for all sorts of carpentry related projects. In 2006, Johnny became a Class A contractor and started his own business building and renovating homes. He was hired as a subcontractor for Richmond Metro Habitat for Humanity where he met Jack and they worked on projects together for 5 years before starting Tredegar. Johnny currently resides in Sandston and enjoys fishing in his spare time, especially on the Chesapeake Bay.
Jack grew up in Richmond, VA and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the College of William & Mary. Jack began his career in construction as the General Manager for Lockridge Homes where he managed the sales, financing, and construction processes for customers building on their land in 25 counties throughout Central Virginia. Prior to Tredegar, Jack served as the VP of Construction & Real Estate for Richmond Metro Habitat for Humanity. Jack's public service includes currently serving as a Commissioner on the Richmond City Planning Commission and a founding Board Member for the Maggie Walker Community Land Trust. He lives in Richmond with his wife, Nicole and their three kids (John, Henry, and Annabelle).
